Continuing our series on International Shakespeare’s alongside the Olympic Games…
From Craiova in Rumania, I went to Belgrade for an international Shakespeare conference hosted by The English-Speaking Union Serbia
There I met with Dr Zorica Becanovic-Nikolic, who works in the Department of Comparative Literature and Literary Theory, University of Belgrade.
Among her publications is Shakespeare Our Collocutor: Dialogues with Shakespeare in the Balkans.
Here she talks to me about her research interests in Shakespeare and different European traditions.
What springs to your mind when you think of Shakespeare’s place in European culture?
