Creating Shakespeare’s Life

Earlier in the week, Professor Graham Holderness came to The Shakespeare Centre to talk about his new book, Nine Lives of William Shakespeare. It’s a fascinating approach to the challenges of Shakespearian biography. Each section includes a short story in response to the historical evidence and the kinds of story that have been made from it. ‘The Adventure of Shakespeare’s Ring’ is told in the style of a Sherlock Holmes story as part of the section about Shakespeare’s love life.

But I thought you’d like to hear Graham himself speaking about the book, so please click on the link below.

I am not a Stratfordian but I must say that Dr. Edmondson and Dr. Wells you do a great job of presenting academic points of argument as opposed to ad hominem. And while I do not agree with your analysis of the data, I can listen to your explanations without wanting to shout at the computer screen lol.  Thank you for being measured and patient in your approach.
